OUR STORY

A little bit about us

Founded in the early 1980s, Barunga Village began as a modest extension to the local hospital in Port Broughton. Today, we are a community-owned, not-for-profit organisation providing Retirement, Community and Residential services across the Yorke Peninsula and Mid North. As the needs of our communities have changed, Barunga Village has continued to grow and evolve alongside them.

Community-owned and operated, Barunga Village is a regional success story and a major contributor to the health and economic development of Port Broughton and its farming hinterland.

Robyn brings extensive nursing, clinical governance and leadership experience, along with strong local knowledge and a genuine commitment to supporting the community and Barunga Village’s future.

Debra Devlin

Debra brings extensive governance experience across community services, along with a strong understanding of diverse community needs and a genuine commitment to giving back across the Mid North.

David Easter

David brings 40 years of education and community leadership, personal experience supporting his wife in aged care, and a strong commitment to advocating for rural and regional communities.

Richard Patterson

Richard brings two decades of private sector management experience, with strong business insight and a genuine commitment to supporting the continued growth of Barunga Village and its community.

Nicole Hewett

Nicole brings extensive organisational development experience, with expertise in leadership, strategy and change, and a passion for building resilient, high-performing teams and positive workplace cultures.

Matt Kris

Matt brings extensive aged care, physiotherapy and allied health leadership experience, along with a strong connection to Barunga Village and a passion for improving quality of life.

Melissa Koch

Mel brings senior leadership experience across health, aged care and community services, with strong financial and governance expertise and a genuine commitment to supporting regional communities.
