Staying at Home

RETREAT DATES: 15-17 OCTOBER AND 10-12 DECEMBER 2024 IN PORT BROUGHTON

The Staying at Home (Mid-North and Yorke Peninsula) program is a free three-day retreat welcoming people in the early stages of dementia and their carer. Carers could be a partner, a family member, friend, or other loved one who is caring for the person with dementia.

Set in a home-like environment, carers will engage in education and peer support sessions, while their loved ones receive an introduction to respite care and enjoy meaningful engagement opportunities with our friendly dementia-trained team. Participants will also have time to relax and socialise with their loved one, and other retreat attendees.

Incorporating the specialised Butterfly Model of Care for dementia, our program is built on relationship centric and meaningful engagement models of care, and provides tailored personalised support.

Funded by the Australia Government Department of Health and Aged Care, accommodation, food and all retreat resources are covered, with no cost to participants.
